Peonies & Lilacs

City Belle's favorite flowers are Pink Peonies.  So, I decided to surprise her with some on Monday.  Here's a shot of the bouquet before the peonies blossomed.  The bulbs are still tight here. 

After a couple of days... Voila! they opened up!

These beauties have lasted all week.  They sure do brighten up the apartment.

Pink Elephant

It's Valentine's Week and a Pink Elephant print is a perfect way to celebrate.  I originally saw this print via younghouselove.  They bought a print from zou zou's basement.  They chose a mixed media print of a bunny but posted a gorgeous pic of this pink mixed media elephant.  I fell in LOVE! 

As you see from yesterday's post, we have a thing for elephants.  So, I immediately pinned this image.

After looking at it on my Pinterest board, I visited zouzou's basement on Etsty and purchased this baby for our apartment.  

Once it arrived, it was bent. :(  I was so disappointed.  So, I emailed the seller and she happily sent us another one that was not mounted.  It was perfect!  

Thank you Zou Zou!

Love is in the Air

It's Valentine's Week and Love is in the Air in NYC.  Country Boy and I celebrate February since, that is when he proposed.  So, Valentine's Day ends up being more of a commercial thing, but we like to celebrate the anniversary of the day he popped the question.

Today is our 2nd Wedding Anniversary!  

 I can't believe it has been 2 years since that crisp fall day we exchanged our vows
 in front of all of our friends and family.

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day!  City Belle and I aren't too big on V-day.  I try and be sweet on her anytime I can, so Valentine's is sorta funny to both of us.  Just another overly commercialized holiday huh?

Valentine's is a good excuse for a CHAMPAGNE Day though! 

And it's a good excuse to be cheesy and fun!

Southern Love

Well, this week is pretty much "Love Week" at the CBCB household.  We have blogged about our 1 year Anniversary and Falling in Love with Fall Decor.  So, I thought I would keep the love going and talk about Southern Love. 

Even though we live in NYC, we love our Southern roots.  We love our accents and our addiction to Sweet Tea.  So, when we found out our friends and photographers Joey+Jessica who photographed our Wedding, just made the cover of Southern Weddings Magazine, we were thrilled!   That is a Big Deal!  And we are tickled to death!

The gals at Southern Weddings Mag decided to put it all out there and asked a question to the world via twitter "who would would like to shoot our next cover."  They received over 200 submissions.  It was narrowed down to 15 and Joey+Jessica knocked it out of the park!  Read all about it here.

After seeing these photos, I definitely have Carolina on my mind! 

Look at that Carolina Blue sky and those Mason Jars filled with sweet tea!  YUMMY!

 

I can't wait to get my hands on this issue!  It will go in my keepsake magazine collection (sorry Country Boy, but I have to add this one).   So, now I just have to figure out how to get a copy!

Today is a pretty big deal at the CB~CB household.

Why?

Because a year ago today, I married my best friend.

 10.10.10 is our One year anniversary.

A year ago today, we said our vows in front of our friends and family. 

A year ago today, we had our 1st kiss as husband and wife.

A year ago today, I was dancing my first dance with my husband...

and drinking champagne.

....and celebrating!

Hey Guys!  After some more research, I don't think August 15th is Best Friend's Day (its June 8th)!  Yesterday was actually National Relaxation Day.  And very fitting it being Sunday.  But, it's still a perfect day to hang out with your bestest!  I am so blessed to have such amazing friends that are always there for me no matter what!  So, I wanted to take a second to shout out to my peeps in NYC, NC, ND, VA, TN, FL, CA!  You guys rock and I am so lucky to have you!   Here are some pics of all of us celebrating throughout the years...

 I was fortunate enough to be able to spend the weekend with my BFF!  We have been friends for 14 years.  I cherish our friendship!  We had a blast!

Hi, I’m Country Boy and this over here is City Belle.  We are Newlyweds living in New York City.  We’re from small towns in North Carolina, but have lived in the Big Apple for 7 years.   We’re fun-loving, creative types who love good food and great design.  We are complete opposites, but that’s what makes us work; the yin to my yang.  J     

We have known each other since we were toddlers in NC, but growing up got in the way- separate schools, puppy love crushes, you know the deal.  We lost touch after High School, went away to college, and never crossed paths, until one day we both ended up in NYC. 

My Mom called me up one day and said "ya know She moved to the City, you should call her.”  I called her, and 6 years later ….she’s my wife. 

We love our southern roots and New York City Style.  We like Sweet Tea and Sushi,  Biscuits and Bagels, lush green grass and the Concrete Jungle.   We love family and the “small” things in life, while appreciating the “finer” things.  

Come along on our journey as we hope to offer you some Southern Hospitality with Big City Style.
