Orange Crush

I'm totally crushing on Orange these days.  And that's the color of the month at Kate Spade.  So, I knew I had to go check it out.
Check out our features on the color of the month for March and April.

Country Boy and I had a fun night in the city on Friday, walking around and stopping in cute shops and eateries.  We came upon the Kate Spade shop on 5th Ave and the store windows were amazing- full of vibrant fuchsia and orange.  So, of course I had to drag him inside. :)
Kate Spade is like a Candy Shop for Girls.  Bright colors and fun accessories everywhere you turn.

The windows were filled with tons of Orange and Pink Asian lanterns.  It was amazing!
Then, we went to Soho on Saturday and I visited that store location as well.
Color Overload!  :)
Isn't this Orange poppy dress so cute?  I'm totally crushing on this cute little ensemble.

Can't wait for the next color of the month.

Paper Power

As you know, I'm a sucker for print and pattern.  Last week I went to the National Stationary Show at the Javits Center in NYC-the mecca for prints and patterns.  The stationary show is the largest trade show for Stationary exhibitors to showcase their new products.  It is such eye-candy to see all the new trends in paper and home.  It is color overload!   So many print studios, such as Cinnamon Joe, as well as stationary vendors, like Dabney Lee were there under one roof.

There were tons of new and cool ideas in stationary packaging, colors, and prints.  It was such a creative atmosphere.  There was also a Paper Runway.  A few Exhibitors had created a fashion Runway look soley out of paper!  It was amazing.  Take a look at all of the super creative outfits.

Can you believe those were made out of paper?!?!
Now that's what I call...

Champagne, Cupcakes, and a Dance Parade

Hey Ya'll!  It was a gorgeous Saturday, so Country Boy and I ventured down to the East Village. We were going to get some Cupcakes and Champagne at our favorite cupcake place-Butter Lane.  Check out our Butter Lane Cupcake Tour.
They were offering a Saturday special of 1 cupcake and a glass of Champagne for $5!  My 2 favorites- Cupcakes and Champagne, a perfect combination.

On our way to Butter Lane, we ran into a Dance Parade on St. Marks Place.  It featured dancing from all different cultures- Native American,

Japanese,
Sword dancers

and Belly Dancers!
It was a crazy sight. The parade lasted about 2.5 hours.  There were a ton of people dancing and even more people watching.

Check out our YouTube Video.

It was a perfect day for a parade.
Just another day in the City.

Until next time,

Trellis Bay, BVI

It's a full moon tonight and it's been fairly busy on the CB~CB home front lately.  We finally got to go on our Honeymoon, and we decided to go to the Virgin Islands.  We took over 1,000 pictures, so we decided to break up the blog entries with different adventures we had along the way.  One of those adventures was the Trellis Bay, Full Moon Party. Trellis Bay is in the British Virgin Islands(BVI) and it was about 2 miles away from where we were staying.  Everyone told us to go, so we did.  They had reggae bands, and great food, and cold drinks.
Here adults and kids alike are placing wood inside the steel balls for later.
Each month during the Full Moon, the locals gather and have a festival welcoming Luna.  There are cold drinks and a full outside buffet.  There's an overall welcoming feeling as soon as you arrive.  It's a family-friendly affair and I encourage anyone who ever has a chance to go, to do so.

Trellis Bay had these dancers on stilts walking around and dancing with the tourists.  It was unlike anything we'd had ever seen.
The night sky was as clear as a bell; and very romantic for this Country Boy with his City Belle.
These are iron-works done by a local artist named Aragorn.  He uses ship-wrecks as his supply of the iron, and refurbishes the iron into huge "iron-works" of steel fireballs and puts them in the water.

The fireballs have a checkered history and past. Aragorn, the artist, engaged in a very public dispute with the island’s conservation department in 04' and 05' over whether he had the required permission to place them on the sea~bed.  At the height of the dispute, the fireballs were confiscated and locked up by the cops, but it seems to have been resolved for now.  Look at that FIRE!

Prints Charming

Crate&Barrel.com

With all the Royal Wedding buzz, I thought it was time to focus on a different kind of Prints.  Crate&Barrel has now officially launched the marimekko online shop.   We visited the marimekko concept shop inside their Soho flagship store a few months ago, here.

Now you can purchase all those amazing prints online.  Everything from kitchenwares to bedding to furniture.

Speaking of prints, I snagged a few prints of my own.
