Revel in Ruby

Kate Spade
It's the last day of September!  I can't believe how time flies.  So, in honor of the the last day of the month, I have to feature Kate Spade's Color of the Month- Ruby.
Click on each month to see the colors of the month for March, April, May, June, and  July, August.
The world seems to be loving Kate Spade these days.  They have mastered color this year.  I am super excited about the Hot Pink Ruby.  It's a gorgeous, girly color to kick off the Fall season.
Since September is my Birthday month, I had to go see what surprises were in store.  I have had my eye on the Kennedy bag.  It is my last name, so it's only fitting that I have it.  Right?  Ha!
There it is!  The gorgeous Kennedy bag in the window.  I loved it!  But, it's a little too small for what I need.  I wish it were just a little bit bigger.  I did like the bigger version Bow Bridge James
I mean after all, isn't Under Stated OverRated!
While I was in Kate Spade, I did check out the Ruby must haves...
1) Under Stated is Overrated iphone 4 cover
2) Cherie Coat
3) On the Ave bracelet
4) Sidewalks of New York
5) Algonquin James Tote
6) Supercalifragilipstick

Kate Spade has also collaborated with Poppy King the lipstick queen to create a lipstick line especially for Kate Spade-Supercalifragilipstick!  Here are some of her picks...

Colorlicious

via Google Images
I'm really into colored denim right now.  It reminds me of Middle School when girls wore the coveted colored Guess jeans with the signature triangle patch.
Guess Jeans
I was in love with those jeans, but we couldn't afford those in my household.
So, now that I am older, I am all about getting a pair this time around.
Mila Keln Style File
The Red Jean Trend is in full swing for Fall. I love how each look is completely different.  So, I was on a mission to find a pair of affordable red jeans.
Gap
While shopping online, I found this pair of Bright Watermelon Red 1969 denim leggings from Gap.com.  I haven't bought Gap jeans in a long time, and I heard that their new 1969 collection was really great.  So, I called my local store to see if they had them in stock, but apparently they are only available online.   I found a coupon plus free shipping and ordered them.  I just got them in the mail and I absolutely love them. They are a perfect shade of Watermelon Red, not too pink like the website pic, but a rich red.  I can't wait to wear them this fall.

So glad I finally got my pair of colored denim...
even if they aren't the old school Guess version.

Until next time,

Breakfast @ Tiffany's is 50

movieline.com
Just like most girls, I covet that little blue box.  Just the word Tiffany evokes glamour and prestige.  Truman Capote captured the love of Tiffany's and all things glamorous in the iconic film Breakfast at Tiffany's starring the amazing Audrey Hepburn.  The film turned 50 just a few days ago.  To honor the anniversary, there was a screening at Lincoln Center durning NY Fashion Week.  I am sure it was filled with fashionistas and Holly Golightly-wanna-bes.  Too bad I couldn't go, I'm sure it was amazing.
I would love to see this film on the big screen.
But, I guess I'll settle for the 50th anniversary Blu Ray from Amazon.
This will have to go on my Christmas wishlist.

I did, however, recently add this book to my growing library.  It's the book Fifth Avenue, 5 am by Sam Wasson.  I haven't read it yet, but I'm excited to read the behind the scenes story of Breakfast at Tiffany's.  I'll let you know how it is.

Happy 50th to Breakfast at Tiffany's!

Until next time,

Go for the Gold

Lately, I have been jonesing for some gold stripe glassware.  I am into the whole Hollywood Regency look and I love some sparkle and shine.  So, I thought I would look on Ebay for some cool glassware.

I found this set of 6 Vintage Culver Old Fashion glasses.  The bidding started at $9.99 so I placed a bid.  Then someone outbid me and I was determined to have them.  I finally won them for $22.99.  I didn't think that was a bad price for a set of 6 Vintage Culver gold glasses.
I just got them in the mail and they are super cool.
The next day I got this email from Gilt.com
Check out those Gold Striped glasses!  I love DayNa Decker candles, so I wanted to see if she had chosen those glasses for her curated home collection.
 Yep!  Look at those beauties
Check out the price...$340 for a set of 4!
These glasses are gorgeous by Marc Blackwell, I love the subtle square shape.
But I am really happy with my $23 version.
What do you think?
Go for the gold!

Decor8 NYC

A couple of weeks ago, Holly Becker from Decor8 was in NYC for her Decorate book signing at Anthropologie in Soho.  I have been wanting to get a copy of this book since it came out, and I wasn't gonna pass up a chance to meet Holly.  Even though my work schedule is crazy right now, I was determined to go.
So, I made the journey downtown to Soho to one of my favorite stores in the city.
Once I got inside, this was the line for the book signing.  It actually went pretty fast.
Anthropologie staff were handing out copies of the book, so you could purchase it without having to get out of line.  Genius!
They were also handing out complimentary wine and black & white cookies
while we were waiting to meet Holly.
Lots of great store displays of the Decorate book,
which is sold out everywhere besides Anthro.

It was such a fun night.  I am so glad I finally got my copy of Decorate and that I was able to meet Holly and have her sign it.  She was so sweet and humble that everyone came just to meet her.

Click here to see Holly's blog post on the NYC book tour stop.

Lots of amazing bloggers came out for the event: Amy Atlas, Mr Good Will Hunting, and a Stylist's Life.  I was a bit star blogger struck - tons of creative geniuses all in one room.  It was awesome.

Maybe one day, I'll have my own book signing.

CB~CB on Pinterest

I kind-of have a new obsession - Pinterest.   It's a social networking site that allows you to catalog all of your favorite images all in one place.  You can follow others and see the images they have cataloged as well.  Now, any time I am online and see something I like I pin it.

I think it is so cool that you can find tons of creative inspiration all in one place.
