A Mad House @our House!

Living in New York City is INSANE.  Plain and simple.  You see things that you would never ever see anywhere else in the World.  With technology for dummies and great cameras at a relatively cheap price, it's up to this ol' Country Boy to get as many cool photos as I can, especially while living in the midst of a political firestorm.  The United Nations is in session for the General Assembly, and it's absolutely nuts.  Streets are shut down, police officers are everywhere.  Blockades resist street/foot traffic while the FBI and Secret Service stand guard atop roofs and apartment buildings with massive guns.   Yep ya'll, it's nuts!

I can't tell you enough though, how much of a class act the NYPD really are.  They are some of the most down- to-earth people I have ever met in my life.  I'd like to give them a lot of credit for what they do and have to put up with on a daily basis.

Parked in front of our apartment

This street is blocked off, and it's the main street we walk down.  Both sides of the street are barricaded with tall-steel poles.  It looks horrid, and they're loud when lifted off the trucks they're carried in.  Last night at about 2:30 in the morning they came and hand lifted around 60 or so 8 foot long barricades.  This place shuts down when the Oligarchy come to town.
And rest assured we ARE protected.

The United Nations from Trump Tower.

This guy was grumpy.  lol
This is Anthony Weiner who is a United States Congressman from New York's 9th District.
His diction was clear and precise.

New York Governor David Paterson's (who is legally blind) speech was equally enthusiastic.  He spoke of peace and a new train of thought.  He, in fact, had an even better speech than Mr. Weiner.
Mr. Weiner is lQQkin' at Country Boy.  Huh oh!   :-p
Governor Paterson(left) being flanked by Secret Service and the FBI. (see the ear piece?)
The entire premise of the meeting in front of the United Nations was to bring attention to the peaceful people of Iran and speak out against its leader.

New York City never fails to amaze me.

until next time,

  2. That's just cool. Even if you have nothing to do with politics it would still just be so interesting to be in the midst of it all. Maybe one day I'll actually make it to NYC.
